Fundraising Tally Shows Voters Ready for Change

• Walt Minnick: $410,253.49
• Bill Sali: $58,775.96

(BOISE) – First District Congressional Candidate, Walt Minnick, ended the quarter with more than $410,000 in contributions in 2007. The record-breaking total more than tripled the amount reported by Representative Bill Sali.

“From Iraq to health care to changing how Washington does business, Idaho families are ready for change. I’m grateful that so many Idahoans are joining with my campaign.”

The fundraising total this early in the campaign demonstrates a broad base of support for Minnick’s candidacy. Minnick offered thanks to all of the supporters who stepped forward to show their commitment to his candidacy and leadership capabilities.

“Voters across Idaho know that through hard-work and most importantly, by listening to regular Idahoans we can continue to live in a great state and put this country back on the right track.”

Minnick—who officially announced his candidacy on November 14, 2007—raised $410,253.49 during the period from October 1 to December 31, 2007 (including $100,000 of his own funds). Minnick has over $310,000 in the critical cash on hand category.

Democratic primary challenger Larry Grant raised $24,861.07. Numbers for Rand Lewis were not available at the time of this release.
